New Policy on Incliment Weather

The Monticello Senior Center follows the Monticello School district. If the schools have a 2 hour late start or are closed the Senior Center will open at 10:00 a.m. If you’re unsure, please feel free to give us a call. 763-295-2000

Caregiver Support Group

Caregiver support group lead by Beck Allard LDW is held the 2nd Thursday of every month from 10:30-12 p.m

Bible Study Group

Non denominational bible study group meets every Wednesday from 10:00—11:30 a.m. Please bring your bible if you plan to attend. 

Meal Program

The Senior Center serves noon meals Tuesday-Friday to seniors 55+. The cost is $7 per meal for dine in and $8 for to go meals. Please be sure to sign up 1 day in advance prior  by noon. Pickleball

Seniors age 55+ can play pickleball in the Monticello Community Center gym on Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7a.m.-11a.m and Fridays 8:30-11 there is no charge for Monticello Community Center Members. There is a fee for non-members.

Bingo

Play bingo at the Senior Center on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. There is no fee to play.

Book Club

If you like to read check out our Senior Center book club. This group meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at 9:30 a.m. The book that was read is discussed and participants can pick up the new book to read. Contact the center for more info 763-295-2000.   

Organized Card Games

Seniors aged 55+ are invited to play in the regularly scheduled Senior Center card games. Check out our monthly calendar for game days and times. 

Card tournaments are held as follows

Cribbage every Monday at 9 a.m.

Bridge every Monday 1 p.m.

Hand & Foot every Tuesday at 1 p.m.

500 every Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. tournament is the 2nd Wednesday of every month 1 p.m.

Bridge every Thursday at 1 p.m.

Euchre every Friday at 1 p.m. 

Each tournament has a $2 entry fee and prize money is paid to winners. Advanced sign up for tournaments is not required.

 

Line Dancing

Line dancing class is offered at the Monticello Community Center on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:45 a.m.You do not have to sign up in advance. 

River City Ramblers Choir

If you enjoy singing, check out our Senior Center choir, the River City Ramblers. Practices are held at the center on Tuesdays at 10:30-11:30 a.m. Come join the fun!

Ceramics

Seniors age 55+ are welcome to come to the center to work on their ceramic projects on Wednesdays. The Senior Center owns 2 kilns so we are able to fire items onsite. Call the center for more info. 763-295-2000.

Pool Tables

The Senior Center has 2 pool tables available for use anytime while the center is open. A pool tournament is played the 3nd Wednesday of every month against Elk River team. The cost is $4 to play in the tournament. Call the center for more details. 

Writers Group

John Falenschek is facilitating this group the third Tuesday of each month from 1-2:30 p.m

Seniors with all levels of writing skills and expertise are welcome and encouraged to attend.  

TECH

Need help with your smart- phone, tablet, computer. Our Home program offers support to help you have a better experience with technology. Our TECH expert is here the 1st, 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 1-4 p.m. You must have an appointment. Sign up at the center   

Group for Singles

This is a new group that will meet the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month from 1-2:30 p.m.  This group is about getting out and meeting with other like minded singles who want to enjoy life more through group outings and fun activities.

Open Art Studio

Every Thursdays from 12:30-3:00 we have an open art studio. Bring your craft project and supplies to the center  and visit with others while getting your projects done. 

Casino Trip

The 1st Monday of every month the Monticello Senior Center takes a coach bus to Treasure Island Casino. The bus leaves the Community Center at 8 am and returns approximately at 4 p.m. the cost is $30 and that include the bus ride, $15 on a play card and $5 towards food and drink.
